LD © Canon CLI-8Bk Black Compatible Inkjet Cartridge W/ Chip Review

Currently using this ink in my Pixma Pro 9000MKii and so far it's been great. Other people told me never use generic ink because they had a bad experience. Most of those bad experiences must have happened before companies like LD got into the ink biz. I know for fact magazine printers and such aren't using ink that cost around 50x more then a gallon of gas.

So far my Canon printer and my mothers HP are working just fine with LD Products. The Gamut may not be as wide (not sure how to measure) and the prints may not last 100 years but that's ok. When top quality Archival prints are needed OEM ink is easy enough to buy and swap. I have prints made over a year ago that show no signs of fading as of yet. Did a scan of my oldest print with this ink and put it side by side against the original digital image to judge. I also asked others to judge and not even opponents of generic ink could see much difference.

If your feeling hesitant just get the black cartridge first and make some B&W test prints. Once you do that you will either hate it or love it enough to jump in the rest of the way..

The first cartridge I received did not produce quality prints. There were lines across the page unless I printed at maximum quality, in which case it used so much ink that my 24# paper curled. I cleaned the cartridge using the printer settings and tried again, after which the printer no longer recognized the cartridge.

I am a serious hobbyist with extensive photo printing from NIKON D700, top lenses, and Canon PIXMA 9000 printer. Naturally, I would like to save money on ink as much as anybody as the PIXMA is very good but does run through some colors quite fast, especially the Yellow, Photo Magenta, and Photo Cyan. I ordered a couple of sets of these inexpensive inks based on the positive reviews. They arrived in good order and without delay. Unfortunately, these inks are nowhere near the quality of CANON chromalife 100 ink. First of all the cartridges sometimes leak on installation and can make a bit of a mess which never happens with the Canon ink. Much worse is the terrible color renditions. Some of the inks seemed ok but those most critical for getting the right hue were way, way off. Basically, I had to throw away every photo I printed with these inks and then I threw away the ink. Don't even want to be tempted on a rainy day because the pro platinum paper I use is expensive too.

If you are serious about your photo printing then don't even consider buying these. The price is literally too good to be true and the colors are just not true.

Samsung ML-D2850B Toner 5K High Yield for ML-2851ND Laser Printer Review

After installing the new toner cartridge, the duplexing feature caused the printer to jam about 90% of the time. The old cartridge continued to function well. In comparing the two cartridges, I noticed that a small hole on the "bottom" of the new cartridge was a little smaller in diameter - perhaps 1/64". There is a small white pin in the printer which apparently must go into that hole when it is duplexing. I oiled the hole with a Q-tip containing vegetable oil and the printer is now failing only about 5% of the time. When these toner cartridges are so expensive, it is disappointing that one must trouble-shoot the problem or return the cartridge.

New Compatible HP Q7553A/53A Toner Cartridge Review

I had initially indicated one star for this cartridge, but I am now providing an updated review with 5 stars. Unfortunately, Amazon will not let me change the number of stars, so the only thing I can do is update the text.

I was initially unhappy with this cartridge because it was leaving a lot of toner specks in the background. But after writing the review I discovered a piece of paper lodged inside the printer where the cartridge is installed. The paper is black in color, and is definitely not the kind of paper that I use for printing. So I'm pretty sure it came with the cartridge and was meant to provide protection during shipping. The cartridge did not come with any instructions at all, so it's understandable that I might have missed this. And now the printer is making absolutely beautiful prints!

I now give this cartridge 5 stars, and I will definitely buy another one.
