I've had the canon mg5420 for about a year and FINALLY off brand inks are out! The 247 inks come with clear plastic that let you see the exact amount of ink you have which is very nice. The cartridges are a bit narrower than my canon ones, but clicked in nicely and started printing without errors. The print quality, I must say, may be even better than my Canon inks, with a much more vibrant red tone which I've been having trouble with previously. I don't expect the result will be as color-fast, I plan to leave two prints out on a sunny window and see how they do. I assume that there will be no 'low printer ink' reminder because this is a very basic printer cartridge but you can look at it yourself and see which I am happy to do rather than pay more. I use this for a small greeting card printing business, which doesn't require anything to be archival, so I am very pleased.
