That being said, the OEM drum that I bought from one of Amazon's 3rd party sellers worked well, too, but then it started messing up. So my recommendation here is cautiously qualified.

The other thing that bothered me is that Amazon's 3rd-party "guarantee" did not cover the drum (not to be confused with these toner cartridges) because it worked for "a while" and then became defective after a few weeks. If the 3rd party company had not changed their minds about not covering it (initially they said I was SOL), I would have just been out $150. So I am a little more apprehensive about buying from one of Amazon's 3rd-party sellers than I used to be. I guess when you get used to being the world-wide dominant retailer, you can afford to not give a rat's tail whether a few people get shafted by your business partners.
