Got this cartridge from DuraECO thru Amazon. Price was good and shipping reasonable. The cartridge slides right into the ML-1665 printer but when I force a status print-out (by holding down the second button), the report shows everything as 'Not supported' and SUPPLY ID as 'Invalid Toner'. Obviously, the chip on this cartridge can't fool the Samsung electronics. When I tried to print thru the computer, the Samsung 'Smart Panel' would not allow it because of this issue. If I exited the 'smart panel', it still wouldn't print. I had to run 'msconfig' and disable the Samsung Smart Panel from starting up and this solved the problem. (I'm using this on a Win XP machine)

I have to say that the feedback forum for this type of item may prove misleading since this 'compatible' cartridge can be supplied by numerous merchants. I believe that each merchant may have their own source for this cartridge and comparing them will be difficult. As I stated above, mine came from DuraECO and they graciously just sent me a pre-paid mailing label to return it. After struggling to 'cheat' the Samsumg printer into using it, I believe the toner drum seized up after 200 copies. Up until that point, I was actually using a Win7 PC and everything seemed normal. Once the cartridge locked up, I immediately started getting notifications from the control software, that the cartridge was invalid. I have had good luck with compatible cartridges for a Brother laser that I own, but I think for this Samsung, I am going to have to stick with the pricey Samsung cartridge.

After careful consideration, I decided to order another one of these (since the OEM Samsung is $60!). But this time I specified the unit from Toner Graphic. I popped it in and the printer was immediately satisfied. I printed out several pages without any problems. So I highly recommend the Toner Graphic cartridge.

The original cartridge that I received from DuraECO certainly had problems. But in all fairness, the FREE replacement they sent me, works fine. Hopefully, that first one was just a fluke.
