Like most other people I find ink supplied by original equipment manufacturers to be good but way over priced. Normally I buy nothing but the OEM brand but I thought I'd try this one for my Canon MX882 all-in-one printer. I have mixed feelings about using these cartridges.

The good news is they work. The print quality seems just as good. This ink may take a little longer to dry but I haven't experienced any smudging.

My concern is this. When I open an OEM cartridge and remove the orange cover on the bottom the ink is not wet or dripping, it is held within the fabric in the cartridge. But this brand, when removing the orange cover, is drippy and wet. I didn't want to install the cartridge with that wet drippy ink so I tried blotting it on a paper towel. I got ink on my hands because it quickly bled through the paper towel, and I never did feel satisfied that I had cleaned up the wet ink on the bottom sufficiently.

I worry that this cheap ink cartridge will damage my new expensive printer. I am going to seek out another brand to see if I can find one that I feel is closer to the behavior of the OEM ink cartridge.

It is surprising to me that the manufacturer can produce the cartridge itself, to the correct specification, that properly fits in the printer, and add the ink, for such a low end price. I suspect the cartridge costs more than the ink to produce. Perhaps if they did some work to improve the ink so it wouldn't be so drippy they could still bump up the price a bit and beat the OEM price by a bunch

July 13, 2012 update
I'm placing a second order for these cartridges. They have worked fine and so far have saved me a lot of money. I'm gaining confidence in them. Of course if I have to replace a print head for $100 I'll quickly lose the money saved but there is no evidence I'm going to have to do that.

I did have one drop of ink on a sheet of paper when printing multiple copies but that is the only problem I've had. I'm bumping up from 3 to 4 stars.

I continue to use these cartridges and now am buying the whole color set as well. As before I do have to deal with potential ink drips when I open the new ink cartridges which is a bit of a pain. Once installed I can't tell any difference with the much more expensive Canon cartridges.
