LD © Compatible Brother TN350 Black Toner Cartridge Review

This product works well with my Brother 7820N. I've also purchased ink from LD for my wifes color ink-jet and she has not complained. With this toner cartridge I do get some smudges now and again which is why I gave it 4 stars. The packaging is great and the unit is well built. I just ordered another so that should speak for itself.

IMPORTANT TIP: Also, I read a review along the way some time ago about putting electrical tape over the laser windows that measure the amount of toner left. This WORKS GREAT and has saved me a lot of money. Shame, shame, shame on the manufacturers for designing these units to RIP OFF the consumer. If you are not aware of the trick of what to do then here it is.

Very simply remove the toner cartridge (drum unit and toner) from the printer like you were going to change it out. You DO NOT have to remove the toner cartridge from the drum unit as you will actually be working with the drum (the drum is the plastic unit that holds the toner cartridge).

Cut two small pieces of black electrical tape (1/2" x 1/2" approx.). Place the tape, one piece on each side of the drum over the holes. The holes are easy to see and are pretty much right in the middle of the sides. You can't miss them, they are a little bigger than the size of the diameter of a pencil.

The principle is this: The laser shoots through the holes on the drum unit and through the aligned holes on the toner cartridge to measure the toner. When the toner drops past the level of the holes the laser comes through the other side and "tells" the printer the toner is now empty. And when it does this it shuts off the ability to print. There is no more shaking the toner to get more copies because the laser is FALSELY indicating an empty cartridge. By having the tape on the drum the laser can never pass through and give that FALSE indication.

I take the tape off when I put a new cartridge in so the laser can pass through so I know when the toner is getting low. Then I put the tape on and it is AMAZING how many more pages you are able to print. Hundreds....if not a thousand. And then at the end of its life, after hundreds more pages, you are able to once again shake the cartridge and get even more pages. I hope this helps someone as it has helped me.
